A crisis training project for correctional specialists was launched by the non-profit organization “Special Workshop – Art for Autism” and the Global 2000 for Children of Ukraine Fund.
The project began at the end of March, and according to Anastasia Angelova, a psychologist at the Special Workshop – Art for Autism organization, “its goal is to improve the provision of educational, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services to children with disabilities and their families.”
Seven online educational and therapeutic meetings are offered as part of the “First psychological aid for children with disabilities” project, giving participants the chance to learn new skills. You can control the effects of stress and trauma on your own by taking part in the project.
According to Anastasia, there are currently two groups of 15 correctional education experts taking part in the training.
“We have brought together women experts from Kharkiv and residents who either now take care of the children with disabilities or will do so soon; the majority are professionals who have stayed in the city. According to the psychologist, on average, they help 111 children with disabilities monthly.
The “Global 2000 for Children of Ukraine” Fund provided financing for the wages of two women specialists, which made it possible to develop the project program and implement it within 3 months. After the program is over, a free electronic manual that summarizes the experience, will be made available.
