How case management differs from humanitarian aid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Humanitarian aid often provides basic support such as food, clothing, and hygiene items. This is essential in emergency situations. However, it does not address the root causes of the problems a family faces and does not guarantee long-term change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Case management works at a deeper level: if a child does not attend school, the specialist investigates why, assists with documentation, looks for transport options, and supports communication with teachers. If the family lacks food, the case manager doesn\u2019t just hand over a package \u2014 they help find sustainable sources of support: applying for social benefits, contacting employment centers, or finding retraining opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why this support is especially important for children in the frontline Kharkiv region<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In Kharkiv region, children live in constant danger \u2014 under shelling, with limited access to education, medical care, and psychological support. Parents often cannot cope with problems that have accumulated over years of war: loss of housing, trauma, unemployment, lack of documents. And it is children who suffer the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Case management helps us see each child not just as a recipient of aid, but as a person with the right to safety, development, and care.
