Sometimes change starts with something simple — a conversation.
During a visit of the mobile team to a family-type children’s home in Pishchanka, the eldest boy, Roman, mentioned that he had long dreamed of resuming his training. Their old punching bag was already worn out, making it impossible to practice strikes.
He said it without any special expectations — just sharing his thoughts. The children know that sports equipment is expensive, and such dreams often remain dreams. But this time was different.
Serhii, the driver of the mobile team, who had already visited this home several times, played with the boys and talked about sports, heard this and remembered it. The next day, he passed the request on to case manager Iryna. Then the teamwork began: the team of the «GLOBAL2000» CHARITABLE FOUNDATION decided to gift the children not only a new 90 kg punching bag but also two sets of boxing gear, dumbbells, and resistance bands for training.
The children didn’t know about it. When they were called to help carry “something from the car,” they saw a huge box — and froze. Then came an explosion of emotions: smiles, laughter, quickly using a drill to hang the bag, first fittings of helmets, wrapping their hands with bandages, and boiling water to mold their mouth guards.
Training immediately interested everyone — both boys and girls. The youngest, Mykhailo, promised he would also train becoming strong. Now the team also has online sessions with a children’s coach twice a week, and Roman is preparing for competitions.
A good example of the trust that grows when people visit not just “to tick a box” but to truly connect. Sometimes the greatest gift is the feeling that you have really been heard.
