The Story of Kryshtalyk

The Kryshtalyk Regional Special School in the Luhansk region of Ukraine had 172 students prior to February 24th, 2022. The majority of these children came from socially vulnerable families. The school had been regularly supported with medical equipment, clothing, and shoes by our organization. However, in the spring, the school was occupied and unfortunately had to be abandoned.

Coincidentally, several years ago, the Austrian organization GLOBAL 2000 had installed a water purification system 💧 and generator in Kryshtalyk, which proved to be vital to the survival of the children and adults during the occupation.

The food and medicine that we were able to procure helped sustain them for nearly a month. We also worked closely with the volunteers of Восток SOS to deliver necessary supplies, and we are incredibly grateful for their assistance.

Unfortunately, today, the Kryshtalyk Special School no longer exists, as all the residents have left, and part of the building has been destroyed. However, we remain hopeful that we can rebuild and that the children will grow up to strengthen our Ukraine!
